Tracker mode options

Silent mode The tracker runs invisibly in the background and starts automatically when the user logs in to their computer. No user interaction is needed. Manual mode The tracker icon is visible in the menu bar or system tray. The user starts and stops the timer themselves.

How to configure

  1. Go to Administration → Tracker Settings → Tracking Options → Global
  2. Under Tracking, choose Silent or Manual for Tracker mode
  3. Click Save changes
To change the mode for a single user, see Update User Tracker Settings. You can also switch one device’s mode from the user’s Tracker Settings tab. See Edit User.
Choose Silent mode for automatic tracking, or Manual mode if you want users to have more control over when tracking begins.
In Manual mode, activity is only synced while the timer is running, and Track Outside Shift Hours does not apply.
