Overview
These definitions apply everywhere metrics appear: the Dashboard, custom dashboard widgets, Reports, Time & Activity, Timelines, Time Sheets, and email reports.Time metrics
Example
A user’s tracker runs from 9:00 to 17:00 (8 hours). They step away for 45 minutes with idle time kept.- Total Time = 8h 0m
- Idle Time = 0h 45m
- Active Time = 7h 15m
What counts as a day
A day runs from the Day Starts At time of the user’s shift, not always from midnight. With Day Starts At set to06:00, work from 22:00 to 03:00 belongs to the day it started on.
On the Dashboard, before your shift’s Day Starts At time has passed, “today” also includes yesterday.
Activity percentage
Activity % measures how much of the active time had keyboard or mouse input.- Each second counts once, whether it had one key press or fifty
- Monitor360 counts input. It does not record which keys were pressed
- Keyboard % and Mouse % use the same formula with only keyboard or only mouse input
- Idle time is excluded, so a long break does not lower Activity %
Reading, video calls, and meetings often have little input, so 100% is not expected. Compare a user’s Activity % over time, or against similar roles, rather than against a fixed target.
Productivity
Every application and website is classified as Productive, Neutral, or Un-Productive.
Classification comes from, in order:
- Application or Website Grouping Rules, by priority
- The application’s level on the Applications page
- Otherwise, Neutral
